Barb takes pride in providing value to her clients. She takes a proactive approach to accomplishing the best outcomes for her clients. She understands the importance and range of issues that should be addressed to protect her clients' interests, whether she's representing a individuals, small businesses or large corporations. 

​Before earning her law degree from The University of Chicago Law School, Barb attended Yale Law School for her third-year coursework, focusing on business, real estate, finance, and tax. 


Her years of practice began at top Connecticut and Denver firms, where she developed a keen understanding of business and real estate transactions. Years in the corporate world before law school and later as in-house counsel, Barb gained valuable insight into the needs and goals of commercial enterprises. 


​In 2003, Barb decided to open her own law firm with the goal of offering the highest quality of legal representation in real estate transactions to businesses and individuals at affordable rates that many larger firms cannot offer.  


Over the years, Barb has been nominated and awarded attorney recognition for excellence in the practice of Real Estate by her peers - other Colorado lawyers. In 2024, Heikoff Law, LLC was selected as a top Real Estate law firm by Best Lawyers and as top firm and attorney in Real Estate in Colorado and the Denver Metro area by Thomson Reuter's Super Lawyers. 

Emerging Trends.

While practicing on the East coast, Barb began her career as a corporate and real estate attorney, appointed as general counsel for the State of Connecticut Department of Economic Development, establishing and overseeing the State's small business loan program.


After moving to Denver, Barb worked on projects such as the land purchase and development of the Pepsi Center, remediation and build-out for Family Star Montessori's preschool and Head Start program, and represented the Denver Art Museum as it ventured into creating its first restaurant facilities. Barb has also worked with developers of medical and office buildings, assisted living facilities, and custom homes from the earliest stages of strategic planning and land purchases to overseeing construction and completion.

In recent years, Barb's firm has developed a ​focused niche practice of assisting individuals without a legal relationship who purchase residential real estate together by documenting their separate investments, shared ownership rights and obligations, and their intended outcome if and when the property is sold or transferred.
